on the board. second quarter, a touchdown pass. baltimore stayed ahead. close in the the browns a second chance at a hall mary -- hail mary. incomplete. ravens win 23-16. here is kristin fisher with more reaction to the refs coming back. good morning. >> reporter: good morning. leapt me ask you this. when is the last time that you saw referees getting a standing ovation? most times they're booed or heckled but not last night. check out the reception they received in baltimore just before kickoff. [ cheers and applause ] >> reporter: look at that. a standing ovation for the referees. that may be the first time in the history of football. throughout the game people held up signs. my favorite said "finally we get to yell at the real refs. welcome back." these guys really got the rock star treatment last night. this all happened less than 24 hours after an agreement was reached between the n.f.l. and the referee union. after nearly a year of negotiations, the two sides finally reached a compromise on pensions, salaries. fans were ecstatic. coaches we leaved. no one was happier about the return of t

/ravens game in baltimore. we'll is livework on -- have live coverage on that later in our newscast. >> we have thunderstorms up to our west and meterologist topper shutt is tracking them as we speak. >> looks like a dry commute home, but a different story later and that could impact the ravens game in baltimore. let me start with doppler 9,000. it's quiet around the metro area, but to the west essentially along the i-81 corridor, pretty good thunderstorms there, a severe thunderstorm warning in effect for page and shenandoah county until 5:45. there's a couple big storms out to the woodstock area and front royal and just to the north of winchester. so another storm is just headed for the northeast. they won't make much eastward movement. they'll generally follow the track up i-81 and later tonight they begin to move eastward toward the immediate metro area. we'll come back and track them for you and tell you what that means for the ravens game and if they hang around for tomorrow morning's commute. >>> right now three men are in court for the vicious and brutal beating of a young father walkin

into baltimore county as well. back toward thurmont, you still have some rain, even hagueerstown but the heavy stuff is well east of you, east of route 15. temperatures are running into the 60s everywhere except for garrett county which is in the middle 50s at 55. easton is 68. culpeper down to 61, one of our cooler spots. gaithersburg at 63. bowie a much milder morning over there than it has been the last few mornings with the temperature there running about 65. outside on our michael & son weather camera, quiet in northwest d.c. we're looking toward virginia toward the west, southwest right now. 69 degrees with mostly cloudy skies. no wind to speak of and the humidity at 81%. one thing i want to point out, there's a boundary here. you can see it from southern new england snaking back toward the mississippi valley. a little twist in the clouds coming through southern indiana and kentucky. that will lift the boundary north so i think much of today is dry. as this gets closer, that's what's going to enhance the shower or thunderstorm chance late this afternoon into the evening hours. that's why

warns of baltimore, maryland. you can see top of baltimore from the top of the cathedral, 100 years old. secret to longevity, a little bourbon and chasing women. isn't that something. overland park, kansas, over that way near the mississippi river. anyway, sarah zeldin is 100 years old today, and she's had so many wonderful things, very active in charity and her church work. good old gordon. i love that name. gordon bohler of lenox, georgia, 104 years old today. loves to spend time singing and praying. that's a combination you can't go wrong. mary davis of lewisburg, tennessee is 105, and her husband was a fireman for so many years and finally, recently some of the guys took her for a ride on the fire truck on her 100th birthday. ever been with the dog, the dalmatians and ole those spots? joe just got back from the rodeo show. joe lamping of medford, oregon, is 100 years old today, and he loves to build things. as a matter of fact, he built the house he still lives in to this day. that's an art, a skill. i can't even write my name. mary jo, how beautiful she is, mary jo hammond, hunting
